Guest Reviews

We really hope people enjoy their visit to Rudge Farm Cottages and their holiday in Dorset.  Below we have set out several of our guest comments so you can see what they thought....

"My family has stayed here many times including two visits this year. The cottages are very nice and have everything you need. They are user friendly and you don't feel continuous panic if you have young children there! The grounds and setting are completely stunning. My family and I lay in the garden outside our cottage and listened to the sound of the birds wings whirring through the air as they sped around the buildings. We are talking seriously peaceful!"  Craig, London

"Just spent a long weekend here and must say thoroughly enjoyed it. Stayed in Carter's cottage, lovely and warm and cosy and spotlessly clean. Went with our daughter and one year old grandson. Perfect for families so much there to do - would love to go back in the summer months although weather was kind to us sunny but cold. Very well equipped all you could possibly want with good local pubs."  Susan, Surrey

"We stayed in 'Pigsty Cottage'. So beautiful, we had our own little veranda & stunning views overlooking the lakes & surrounding countryside. A short drive to Chesil Beach. The cottage is well equipped & comfortable. A jug of milk & a selection of tea & coffee was a lovely welcome!"  Maryann

"We stayed here late July. Accommodation is of a generally good standard for a family holiday. What made it for us was the pond/lake and grounds. There are a couple of rowing boats that can be at any time- the children (and I) loved this. The lake is packed with fish- it generally took around 60 seconds to catch one- good sized rudd, roach, dace etc. the kids loved this too.
There is a large games room/barn with bowling, table tennis, table football, pool table etc.all of good quality. There is also a woodland walk around the property. Despite the many beautiful places to visit close to Rudge Farm, the children always asked to stay and play here for the day! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone, with or without children, and certainly to return soon." Barry, Crewe

"Loved our holiday. Lots to keep our little one entertained, tennis, games room, trampoline, rowing boats, fishing, playing in the meadow, the ducks and woodland walks. Cottage lovely clean and had everything we needed. We went to Burton Bradstock beach, monkey world, dinosaur & teddy bear museums in Dorchester, Lulworth Cove, Abbotsbury children's farm. Fantastic time and back for more hopefully next year." John, Swanley

"Just spent a lovely week at Rudge Farm Cottages (2 adults, 2 boys ages 11 and 13). The facilities were great for us - the table tennis was a particular success with our boys. Fabulous weather meant we barbecued most evenings on our patio (barbecues available to borrow) and spent plenty of time just relaxing around the farm. Plenty of space to kick a ball, run around, read books and play games at the picnic areas, plus additional attractions such as trampoline, rowing boats on lake and tennis court. We also enjoyed playing pool and bar skittles. As for the location - just lovely. The farm is on a really quiet road in attractive countryside, just a few miles from the beach. We enjoyed morning runs in the area, including along the coastal path. Abbotsbury is a short drive away - a picture postcard village to visit. Highly recommended."  Beverley

"I organised this get away for my husbands 40th with our family and friends. What a wonderful weekend we all had! The farm is a kiddies paradise. They just loved the freedom with lots to do. This always makes a parents break away heaven. The cottages are clean and comfy - a home from home. Beaches are nice and close too. We will be back." Janine, Surrey

"These self catering cottages are just in such an idyllic setting, nestling in a valley in beautiful countryside. We stayed here for 4 nights in early July and thoroughly enjoyed our mini break. Pigstsy cottage sleeps 2 and we found it to be well kitted out; comfortable and cosy. There is plenty for children to do with a well stocked games room, books, DVDs and videos. Outside there is a large pond with rowing boats, a trampoline and sandpit area for little ones. Garden / field walks take you through woodland and across streams to a wonderful vantage point. Well situated being a short drive to the coastal town of Bridport and local beaches and villages. Plenty of nice pubs and restaurants around if you dont want to cook. We ate out at the Crown Inn in Puncknowle; and the Anchor at Burton Bradstock - both serve delicious food. Also good local farm shops selling excellent produce. We will definitely be back to stay here in the future; we loved Rudge Farm and the local area" Anon, Derby
